On April 2nd Brian and I had our first appointment!
It went exactly how I had expected it too with a few added surprises thrown in.
I knew that I was going to have to give a urine sample and go over my family/medical history; which had already been completed via the office's online options. Filling everything out online made the visit so much easier and not nearly as long! All we had to do was go over a few dates and some more serious aspects of my history and we were done! It gave me more time to get all of my questions answered without feeling so rushed.
I also knew I was going to have to give them some blood, but I was not expecting them to take around six vials! Brian told me as we were walking out, "I didn't think she was ever going to stop!". I think he feels for me already. :) A lot of the blood was going to be tested for basic things, like, my thyroid levels, my iron, blood type, etc.
That was basically it for my first visit! Short and sweet and to the point, just how I like it.
My second appointment is Monday, April 9th (only four days away!) and I will be having more physical exams, going over my blood test/urine sample results and having my first glucose test. Yes, that is correct, I said glucose test. The doctor wants me to do the one hour test so early on because Diabetes runs in my immediate family and if I have Gestational Diabetes they want to start treating it now instead of waiting until I am 28 weeks. I am most definitely okay with it and do not mind taking the extra precautions as well.
Also, Brian and I will get to see our baby! I am having my first sonogram at that appointment and I can not wait to see my little one for the first time.

Week eight is over and I am half way through week nine!
I can't believe how quickly the weeks are passing by! I am four weeks away from ending my first trimester, thank goodness! I am ready to start feeling more like myself again! My appetite is slowly returning to normal with the occasional craving (this week it has been for Bubble Gum and Cotton Candy ice cream) and the nausea is starting to ease up dramatically. I have only experienced morning sickness once since the last time and it was not fun; I barely made it inside the apartment! I am still extremely fatigued by mid-afternoon and have to take several naps and certain smells still make me feel like running in the opposite direction. But aside from that everything has been well; no more constipation, no more nausea from my pre-natals, hardly any heartburn/indigestion. I can't wait to begin my second trimester! I have heard that you feel fantastic and energetic! I want some of that energy!
One thing I have noticed a lot more though is the growth of my appetite and certain parts of my body. Purchasing a new bra this early on is just out of the question due to financial reasons. So wearing them is beginning to feel uncomfortable, but I told Brian we are not investing in something like that until I am falling out of them; which is sort of happening now.
Aside from everything, being pregnant hasn't been too awful. ;)

Brian and I also moved out of our apartment and into a much bigger duplex. We moved in three days and it was very difficult on me with being pregnant. He wouldn't let me carry anything if he thought it was too heavy; which made me feel as if I weren't doing anything and feel awful that he had to do it all. Going up and down the stairs at the apartment was a nice work out though. Unfortunately the heat wasn't very nice; Georgia is heating up rather quickly! The first day we had moved it was up in the nineties, the second it was incredibly humid and stormed later that night, and yesterday it was back up in the nineties. I was dying! Thank goodness our new place has air conditioning and cools down QUICK. I also love that our neighbors are friends of ours; the Rathbuns have been phenomenal and very welcoming! They have helped us move/unpack and are even letting me use their internet so I can keep everyone updated until we can get ours connected! I am VERY thankful to have them living next door to us. :) So, thank you, you two are awesome!!
I am loving the new place so much already! I can't wait to get things unpacked and make this place feel more like home.
